Which file formats are accepted?

JPG, TIFF
CMYK colours format
RGB colours format
highest resolution possible (the rule-of-thumb is: 1 million pixels makes 1 m²).

We print using the CMYK colours model. If your image is formatted in RGB we will convert it. It might have a slight colour shift due to this process.

Most digital cameras save their pictures in JPEG format. We do, of course, support this format.

What resolution is required?

The best rule-of-thumb is: 1 million pixels makes 1 m².

The required resolution of your image file depends on the desired product. Our software will automatically indicate which size of wallpaper is recommended and which quality may be expected with small notifications. The resolution of the picture should be at least 1024 x 768 pixels.

What is the optimal resolution?

When you create your images with an image editing programme, you should create your image files in the optimum image size (in pixels). Scaling the picture will be unnecessary: we will be able to print it in its entirety onto the fleece wallpaper without trimming (0.5 - 1.0 cm).

Please note that this is only an option and not necessarily required!

Photo wallpaper and very large patterns:
desired size of the wallpaper in a 1:5 ratio at 300 dpi

Small to medium patterns:
complete pattern the width of the wallpaper (46.5 cm) 1:1 at 190 dpi

Borders:
complete pattern 1:1 at 190 dpi
(Borders are delivered in 5 m pieces)

All formats are printed at 190 dpi.
The calculation up or down to 300 dpi is not necessary, as it does not result in improved quality!

How can I transfer my images?

We offer several means for you to upload your pictures. You may choose the most convenient and best way to upload, depending on your individual preferences or the amount of information to be sent.

With wallunica.com you may process your order directly on our homepage (HTML upload or email transfer).

Image upload
Uploading is best when sending only a few images.

Email upload
You are welcome to send your pictures via email. Please follow the instructions and transfer your images attached to an email to the address shown, after completing the order process.

How long does the upload over the Internet take?

That depends on the amount and size of your data, as well as on your internet connection. In case of large files and a rather slow internet connection, we recommend you order and then send us the data on a CD. Here are a few standards for picture data with 4 million pixels (~900 kB):

* Modem (56 kB/s): ~120 sec / image file
* ISDN (64 kB/s): ~100 sec / image file
* DSL (768 kB/s): ~50 sec / image file
* dedicated line (2 mB/s): ~4 sec / image file

My images are not shown after the upload!

There may be various reasons for that:

1. There was a problem during the upload. This may occur for various reasons: maybe there were problems with the Internet connection. Please try to upload again, should that be the case. Should repeated attempts not be successful either, please contact us.
2. The format of the uploaded image files is not supported by us. Your image file must be saved as a JPG, TIF, BMP, GIF or Photoshop PDF file. Please verify when re-editing images that they are saved in RGB or CMYK colour formats.

Can you also create wallpaper from my photo prints?

Regretfully, we do not offer this service. We specialise in the printing of digital pictures and do not offer scanning services.

TIP: You should however, easily be able to find a scaning service on the internet using a search engine.
